about

My favourite live gig. This set was performed at Arcadia 3 in September of 2002 and the legendary Mabi Thobejane, best known as the lead percussionist in Juno Reactor, improvised live over my music, stirring the dance floor into a frenzy.

The set contains two reworks: a remix of the theme music to classic 80s anime film Akira and, may I be forgiven for my transgressions, a trance cover of Laurie Anderson's O Superman. It's also littered with samples from Terence McKenna, Timothy Leary and other psychedelic luminaries, which should give you a sense of my interests at the time.

I stopped making dance music shortly after this, feeling like I needed to explore new territories and processes.
